1. What source formats do transfer / convert?
CMT-BIZ accept all major VCR and Camcorder tape formats including VHS, VHS-C, and miniDV. We accept video's in NTSC standards, refer to the following table for more information.

2. Where do I send my tape for the conversion?
You can order online by clicking on ORDER, once ordered, we will send you an e-mail confirming price along with further instructions on where to send your tape.

3. Do you convert my reel-to-reel 8mm or 16mm roll film to DVD?
CMT-BIZ unfortunately cannot convert reel-to-reel, 8mm or 16mm films. You can convert these to videotape first and then send us the videotape for transfer to DVD.

4. Is there any chance of a discount if I place multiple orders?
Yes, we would like to discuss multiple orders with you on a case by case basis. However, we define multiple orders that exceed 2 hours in length, if your tape is 2 hours or less, we already offer competitive rates in the pricing section. If you have a tape that is >2 Hours, please go to the order page, and a representative will contact you to discuss your requirements in more detail.

5. Can I check the status of my order?
At the moment we do not offer automated status checking, however this is currently under development. To check the status of your order, please use the e-mail link above and send an e-mail with the subject as "Order Status and the Order number we gave you". When we dispatch the CD, a tracking number from the courier will be e-mailed to you for your convenience.

6. Do you offer video editing services?
Yes, we do offer a video editing service, however due to the complex nature of video editing, it is very difficult to offer a fixed price cost. If you are interested in our editing service, or would like to find out more, please go to the order section and check the "Are you interested in our editing service?" radio button.

7. Are all DVD players compatible with your DVDs, VCD's and SVCD's?
Our DVD's have been tested on a vast number of Set-Top DVD players. Our existing customers and DVD player manufactures have provided us with feedback, this information has been collated and provided on our compatible DVD players table. If you recieve your disc and it doesnt play, please contact us with your order number, DVD manufacturer and Model number information.

8. What is wrong, my VCD, SVCD or DVD will not play in my DVD player?
We encourage you to call your DVD manufacturer to inquire about playing VCD, SVCD and DVD+R formats in the machine.

9. What is wrong, my VCD, SVCD or DVD disk will not play in my personal, computer DVD player?
Please make sure that the Media Player software is installed and opened on your computer prior to playing the CMT-BIZ's DVD. If it is, then please contact your computer manufacturer to inquire about playing DVD+R formats in the machine.

10. What is your policy on copyrighted material?
CMT-BIZ will not accept submitted material for conversion to VCD, SVCD or DVD for which you do not have the rights to copy. CMT-BIZ will not knowingly convert copyrighted material to any format. You are responsible for all your submissions. If CmT-BIZ discovers that a customer has submitted copyrighted material, we reserve the right to refuse transfer. CMT-BIZ uses a unique screening mechanism that identifies and rejects any MacroVision protected tape from the conversion process. MacroVision is an industry standard used by most major video production houses to discourage illegal duplication. Those tapes will be returned to the customer with a note of explanation and refund for the conversion fee less any postage.

11. Can I send in more than one tape per order?
Yes, CMT-BIZ accepts as many video tapes as you care to send. If the total tape time exceeds 1hour, remember to mention this on the order.

12. How does CMT-BIZ ensure the safety and privacy of my tape?
CMT-BIZ takes every precaution to ensure that your home videos are secure and protected at every stage. Your tapes are sent to us via a courier of your choice. Human operators process the tapes in an automated environment with little intervention. Viewing of the video only occurs during our random quality control measure to check on proper processing and copyright infringements. We take the utmost care in ensuring that your tape is secure and kept confidential throughout the entire process

13. What if my tape will not fit on one (1) VCD, SVCD or DVD?
You can expect to get at least 1 hour of high quality footage onto 1 DVD, about 1 hour on VCD and 40 minutes onto SVCD. If you have more 1 hour of video footage, we will lower the video resolution to fit into 1 DVD. We will only lower the video quality up to VHS level only. If we find that a second discs is required to transfer all your source footage, then you will be contacted and given the various options.

14. How long does it take to receive my DVD video?
Standard processing of the CMT-BIZ services takes approximately 5-7 business days; (please allow 2 weeks during holiday seasons) however individual turnaround times may vary. A priority service can be arranged if you are in a hurry, however, this does carry a 15% surcharge.

15. Can I order duplicate VCD, SVCD and DVDs at the same time as the first conversion?
Yes. You may order as many copies of your original VIDEO CD/DVD at the time of the order, and two week thereafter, after which your source material will be deleted. Each additional copy is only $10! So order copies for your friends and family now!
